The program (2024–2029) aims to improve water efficiency and agricultural productivity in climate-vulnerable areas. Its sustainability relies on technical support and community training to ensure long-term maintenance of irrigation systems. 2026 update (MIDAGRI, 07/05/2026): by the end of the first quarter of 2026, the PNRT had launched 17 technified irrigation works involving PEN 66.6 million and approximately 1,600 hectares. Ten works had been completed and seven were under implementation. Completed works benefited 510 families and 558 hectares, while ongoing works were expected to benefit another 621 farming households and approximately 500 hectares. The program had also carried out 278 technical-assistance interventions for more than 500 producers, over half of whom were women.
