The Ministry of Rural Development and Lands (MDRyT) created the National Program to Support the Production and Marketing of Andean Grains for the period 2022-2025, with the objective of strengthening the agricultural sector, contributing to food sovereignty and supporting economic reconstruction. and productive. This program, approved by Supreme Decree No. 4632 on December 1, 2021, seeks to strengthen the production of quinoa, Cañahua, amaranth and tarwi, aimed at both the national and export markets, to consolidate the productive chain and improve income. of the producers. With a budget of Bs. 229,631,129, the program will benefit 10,316 farming families in 50 municipalities in the departments of La Paz, Oruro, Potosí, Cochabamba and Chuquisaca. The program's activities include the implementation of regulations for social management, responsible land use and the commercialization of Andean grains, as well as the development, adaptation, validation and transfer of efficient technologies to improve sustainable production. In addition, plant health strategies will be implemented to comprehensively manage pests, increase production and improve the productivity of these grains through services that optimize competitiveness.
