Fecha de inicio: 31/01/2017
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2018

Description

The government of the Dominican Republic aims to implement the coffee NAMA in a participatory process between 2017 and 2028. It aims to cover the two most important GHG sources in the national coffee subsector: coffee farms and mills. The coffee NAMA includes four measures to reduce GHGs in the subsector: 1. reduction in the use of nitrogen fertilizers and N2O emissions, 2. methane avoidance through improved treatment and reuse of wastewater in the mills, 3. better use and management of biomass as a source of energy instead of wood, and 4. carbon sequestration through the propagation of agroforestry systems. The implementation of these measures requires institution and capacity building, evidence building and knowledge sharing.
