Description
The National Fruit Program of El Salvador, FRUTALES, is framed within the Agricultural Diversification Policy promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. It is funded by the Government of El Salvador with resources from ANTEL privatization, executed by IICA in El Salvador. The Program promotes, at national level, the cultivation of Cashew, Persian Lime, Coconut, native crops such as: Sapote, Loquat, Custard Apple, Avocado, and other crops according to producers' requirements and agroecological aptitudes of the zone.
Observations
The aforementioned budget refers specifically to the amounts of the 53 investment projects that the program developed for producers, not to the program's operating budget itself.
