Program building resilience to climate change in rural families in Bolivia

The main objective of the Building Resilience to Climate Change in Rural Families of Bolivia Program is to increase the income and resilience of the most vulnerable small rural producers against the impacts of climate change in southern Bolivia, thus improving their living conditions and contributing to the country's food security and sovereignty. The project will be developed in 35 municipalities in the departments of Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, La Paz, Potosí and Tarija, and focuses on small organized rural producers of peasants and indigenous people, with a priority on the inclusive participation of women and youth. The target group of the program is 19,703 families in poverty, promoting 40% participation of women, 30% of young people, and the indigenous population. The program includes three main components. The first focuses on resilient production and sustainable production systems, promoting the adoption of sustainable environmental technologies and practices that are resilient to climate change, as well as income diversification through the development of rural enterprises. The second component focuses on managing resilience to climate change, increasing the adaptive capacities of producers and municipal, departmental and national governments, as well as assistance institutions, to reduce vulnerabilities to climate change in productive systems. agricultural. The third component addresses knowledge management and program administration, supporting its operation through the systematization of learning and communication, monitoring and evaluation, and general administration.
