Importance of providing equipment to improve coffee processing. The provision of technical equipment is essential to reducing environmental impacts in processing. The project incorporated this lesson by allocating US$203,000 to equip 190 producers to use water efficiently. Link
Formalization of trade agreements. Economic sustainability requires guaranteed access to differentiated markets. A trade specialist was hired to establish trade agreements and conduct business rounds. Link
Carrying out exchanges of experiences in association and business management. Knowledge transfer among producers is key to success. Group methodologies, field schools, and technical tours were implemented to facilitate this exchange. Link
Territorial and participatory approach. Participatory selection of production centers based on environmental, economic, and social criteria. Coordination with departmental associations, rural communities, and local authorities. Link
Integration of gender approach. The specific inclusion of women and youth is essential for sustainability. A gender specialist was assigned, and a minimum of 25% female participation was guaranteed. Link
