Description

Law No. 30355 establishes the responsibilities of the Peruvian State for the promotion and development of family farming, recognizing its contribution to food and nutritional security, agrobiodiversity conservation, the sustainable use of natural resources, local economic development, rural employment, and the continuity of rural communities. The Law aims to improve the quality of life of families dependent on family farming and reduce rural poverty through multisectoral and intergovernmental action that facilitates access to productive, technical, and financial resources, strengthens market linkages, and promotes social protection and sustainable land management. Its main policy guidelines include land tenure formalization, capacity building and technology adoption, access to basic services and water and irrigation infrastructure, technical assistance, financing, producer associations and cooperatives, and the participation of family farmers in markets and agricultural fairs.
