Peru: Law No. 31310 amending Law No. 30355, Law for the Promotion and Development of Family Farming.

This Law amends the regulatory framework on family farming, incorporating provisions that strengthen the role of the State in the promotion and development of this activity, especially in terms of technical assistance and technology transfer. It is established that the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) will be responsible for promoting the digitalization of family agriculture, with priority to subsistence agriculture, in order to improve the profitability and productivity of the agricultural sector through the use of technologies. Likewise, Article 11 is incorporated, which provides for the continuity of the National Family Farming Plan 2019-2021, which will remain in force and effects as a framework of action for the promotion of family farming until the approval of the Multisectoral Strategic Plan (PEM) that will implement the National Family Farming Policy (National Family Farming Strategy).
