Emissions from the livestock sector

88% of the emissions that come from the livestock sector are due to enteric fermentation in the digestive tract of ruminant animals (cattle, sheep and goats), released through belching, the rest comes from manure. (CGIAR, 2023).
El 88% de las emisiones que provienen del sector ganadero son por la fermentación entérica en el tracto digestivo de los animales rumiantes (bovinos, ovinos y caprinos), liberados a través eructos, el resto proviene del estiércol. (CGIAR, 2023).
