Central America: harvest losses above 75%

Many subsistence farmers in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua reported losses above 75% in the 2026 maize and bean harvest of the Primera season (first planting of the year), due to the drought and high temperatures associated with El Niño, mainly in the Dry Corridor.
