Description
This project aims to increase the productivity of regional crops, such as soybean, corn, rice, wheat, potato, alfalfa, barley, oats, tomato, lotus, desmantus, urochloa, megathrsus and lupine, by more than 3.15%, and at the same time reduce nitrous oxide emissions by more than 35% through the generation of climate-smart inoculants. The production of new inoculants is proposed as a technological package that combines three benefits simultaneously: (i) it is applicable to a wide variety of relevant crops in the region, (ii) it increases the production and quality of these crops, and (iii) it drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions, especially nitrous oxide. The direct beneficiaries will be more than 30,000 producers, technicians, researchers and students from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain and Uruguay, and the indirect beneficiaries will be the main companies that market inoculants in the region and consumers in the participating countries.
