Start Date: 1990
End Date: N/A

Description

The Provincial Agricultural Services Program (PROSAP) is a federal initiative in Argentina aimed at the development and competitiveness of the agroindustrial sector, primarily for small and medium-sized producers. Its core focus is the implementation of public agri-food infrastructure and services projects, with a socially and environmentally sustainable approach, seeking to expand the productive frontier, generate employment in regional economies, improve the quality of life in rural areas, and facilitate access to new markets. Furthermore, PROSAP promotes the incorporation of technologies to increase productivity and safeguard resilience to climate change, integrating provinces into a system of territorial development and inter-institutional cooperation. This program is funded with national and international support, especially from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and includes projects in irrigation, rural electrification, roads, animal and plant health, among others.
