Climate-Resilient Sustainable Fruit Growing in Ñuble

Fecha de inicio: 17/12/2024
Fecha de fin: 30/12/2027

Description

A 36-month initiative (2024–2027) led by INIA Quilamapu and Ñuble’s Regional Government, aimed at building climate resilience in fruit production through the diversification of crops (including macadamia, pistachio, and calafate), sustainable farming practices, drip irrigation, meteorological monitoring stations, renewable energy integration, and farmer capacity building.

Observations

This strategic initiative positions Ñuble as a national benchmark in climate-resilient fruit cultivation by promoting productive diversification, technological innovation, and local capacity building. Its long-term success depends on the maintenance of infrastructure (weather stations, drip irrigation, demonstration plots) and sustained alignment with national climate-smart agriculture policies and rural extension services.
