Start Date: 15/07/2022
End Date: 15/07/2024

Description

This technical cooperation seeks to analyze the status of adoption of agroecological practices in Uruguay, study their relationships with the country's carbon footprint and the objectives of the Paris Agreement, and define concrete actions to finance in the agricultural sector to promote the adoption of agroecological practices and reduce the carbon footprint. The initiative responds to the need to balance the role of agriculture as an economic driver of Uruguay and its environmental impact as the main emitter of greenhouse gases, taking advantage of the country's advantages in its transition towards sustainable agriculture and aligning with Uruguay's climate change strategy committed to agricultural development with low greenhouse gas emissions.
