NDC: Second Nationally Determined Contribution of Uruguay

The Second Adaptation Communication (ComAd2) has defined general objectives and specific objectives for each adaptation area. The general objectives are: a) Strengthen information systems for decision making, generating, incorporating and improving information, with technical and scientific validation, linked to the consequences of climate change and the implementation of adaptation actions; b) Reduce the impacts of climate change on socio-ecological systems; reducing losses and damages in the various productive areas and sectors, through the implementation of adaptation actions to climate change; and c) Strengthen alliances for climate governance, regulatory, planning and technical instruments, with the transversal approach to climate change, especially adaptation. The specific adaptation objectives and the respective measures are established for the following sectors: Health; Cities, Infrastructure and Territorial Planning; Biodiversity and Ecosystems; Coastal Zone; Water resources; Agricultural; Energy; and Tourism
