Production for Wellbeing Program Mexico

The Production for Wellbeing Program focuses on improving the yields of eligible crops and products of small and medium-sized agricultural producers to contribute to food self-sufficiency. This national program, which is implemented through operational bodies, provides direct economic support, prioritizing financial inclusion through the use of Banco de Bienestar bank accounts. Direct productive support is granted annually to small and medium-scale producers of crops such as corn, beans, sugar cane, coffee, cocoa, cactus, and honey. The support amounts are determined per producer and per hectare, considering the type of crop and the size of the property. The program also contemplates the possibility of granting extraordinary support in the event of natural disasters, and promotes equality and inclusion policies, seeking that at least 28% of the beneficiaries are women and 45% are located in municipalities with indigenous populations. The program also includes a Technical Support Strategy to facilitate the adoption of agroecological and sustainable practices, aimed at producers registered in the registry. An operational mechanism is established to delimit the territories of incidence of this strategy, prioritizing municipalities with a high concentration of small producers and eligible crops.
