National Program to Support Cotton Production

Description

The program seeks to strengthen cotton production, providing technical assistance and carrying out the public and public-private transfer of inputs and technological packages, in addition to managing the internal and external market for cotton fiber. The packages include seed, urea, ammonium phosphate, mineral oil, machinery and equipment, among others. By 2024, it is expected to achieve a better yield of cotton cultivation at 15 qq/a, increase the surface area to 5000ha and achieve 6 commercial agreements with private companies for the acquisition of cotton, for which activities include the formation of 25 groups of beneficiaries for the technological package, the formation of 15 demonstration plots and continuous training workshops.
