Research, innovation and technology transfer on cassava (Manihot esculenta, Crantz.) processing. (Manihot esculenta, Crantz.)

Start Date: 31/12/2020
End Date: 31/12/2023

Description

The project focuses on the development and validation of semi-manual technologies to improve the profitability and sustainability of cassava cultivation. This includes a lever with a cassava stick starter device, a cassava grater, a cassava slurry strainer system, a hybrid solar dryer for sour cassava starch, organic fertilizer from cassava peel, and a procedure manual for sour cassava starch production. These technologies aim to reduce labor, increase the yield of commercial roots, and improve profitability for producers. Integrating sour cassava starch producers into fresh cassava production is also expected to increase profitability through process mechanization, waste utilization for organic fertilizer production, and water purification for recycling in agricultural production.
