Description

The project aims to address four major issues: breeding, conservation, valorization and production of national and introduced germplasm. In response to each of them, the following activities were planned: recovery of accessions and national germplasm collections, sanitation and diagnosis of the germplasm collected, optimization of protocols for the establishment of agamic or fruit crops, conservation and annual maintenance of the collections of the In Vitro Germplasm Bank (BGiv), description and morpho-agronomic, culinary and nutritional characterization of cultivars of araceae, sweet potato, yam, cassava and plantain, incursion in the acclimatization technique with the autotrophic hydroponic system (SAH) for sweet potato, yam, cassava and otoe; as well as repatriating national germplasm from international conservation centers.
