Regional Climate Change Strategy of Ica (ERCC-Ica)

The Regional Climate Change Strategy of Ica establishes the regional planning framework for climate change management through adaptation actions, greenhouse gas emissions management, and strengthened climate governance. The strategy was developed on the basis of climate trends and projections, regional vulnerability, and greenhouse gas emissions assessments, covering areas such as economic activities, agriculture, water resources and watersheds, ecosystems and biodiversity, infrastructure, energy, transport, and waste. Its strategic objectives and targets through 2021 aim to strengthen the adaptive capacity of the population, productive systems, and ecosystems, improve greenhouse gas emissions management, and institutionalize climate change management through coordination among the Regional Government of Ica, local governments, public and private institutions, and civil society.
