Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Actions Strategy for the Province of Lima – C.Lima Strategy

The Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Actions Strategy for the Province of Lima – C.Lima Strategy established Lima Metropolitan Area’s climate planning framework to guide climate change adaptation and mitigation actions. The strategy included a climate and vulnerability assessment, strategic objectives and adaptation and mitigation measures, as well as an action plan defining priority projects, responsible actors, budgets, and financing instruments. Its actions aimed to reduce the vulnerability of the population and territory to climate risks, strengthen sustainable water and ecosystem management, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and integrate climate change management into metropolitan planning and governance. The strategy was approved through Ordinance No. 1836 and remained in force until June 2021, when it was repealed and replaced by the Local Climate Change Plan for the Province of Lima 2021–2030.
