Start Date: 14/04/2026
End Date: N/A

Description

Mexico’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Federal Consumer Protection Agency stated that there are no economic or technical conditions that justify an increase in tortilla prices in Mexico. The article notes that there are no increases in maize grain or maize flour costs to support a price increase, that the tortilla sector maintains commitments under the National Maize-Tortilla Agreement, and that Profeco will monitor prices in 603 tortilla shops nationwide through the Who is Who in Prices program.
