The Organic Law to Promote the Production, Marketing, Industrialization, Consumption and Price Setting of Milk and Dairy Products establishes the legal and administrative framework governing Ecuador's dairy value chain, from raw milk production to collection, processing, marketing and consumption. The law promotes productivity and producer organization, regulates sanitary, quality, traceability and labeling requirements, strengthens dairy-sector governance and establishes a minimum support price mechanism for raw milk paid to producers, linked to the retail price of UHT milk and supplemented by hygiene and sanitary quality components.
