Organic Law on Agricultural Health of Ecuador

Ecuador's Organic Law on Agricultural Health regulates plant and animal health through measures aimed at preventing, controlling and eradicating pests and diseases, protecting animal welfare and ensuring the safety and quality of primary agricultural production. The law establishes the national phytosanitary and zoosanitary regulation and control system, creates the Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control Agency, and provides for surveillance and early-warning systems, inspections, quarantine, certification, registration, traceability, training and technical assistance, as well as sanitary requirements for the production, movement, import and export of agricultural products.
