Description

Regulates agricultural health, through the application of measures to prevent the entry, spread and establishment of pests and diseases; promote animal welfare, control and eradication of pests and diseases that affect plants and animals and that could represent a phyto- and zoosanitary risk. It also regulates the development of activities, services and the application of phyto- and zoosanitary measures, based on technical-scientific principles for the protection and improvement of animal and plant health, as well as for increasing production, productivity and guarantee of the rights to health and life; and the assurance of the quality of agricultural products, within the objectives foreseen in the planning, the international instruments on agricultural health, which are part of the national legal system. Health in matters of aquaculture and fishing, as well as the assurance of the quality of their products, will be regulated in the corresponding Law.
