74,000 Acres of farmland affected by floods

2022
Around 74,000 acres of farmland, including 43,473 acres of cash crops and 30,684 acres of rice, and more than 20,000 farmers were affected by the 2021 floods in Guyana. The source also documents significant agricultural losses during previous flood and drought events, including an estimated US$52.6 million in damages to the agricultural sector following the 2005 floods.
