Rainfall disrupts agriculture: accumulations exceed 300 mm and production problems increase

Rainfall reached 317 mm in Laguna Merín over four days and between 500 and 600 mm in parts of eastern and northern Uruguay in just over a month, causing flooding, waterlogged fields, traffic restrictions and difficulties moving livestock. Rice reservoirs recovered water reserves, but saturated soils are affecting grazing, logistics, livestock finishing and agricultural operations.
