The event “Youth and Biodiversity: Cultivating the Future from the Territories” was held on 21 November 2024 as a side activity organized by the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), with the support of youth organizations and partners of the multilateral system. The meeting brought together young farmers, researchers, and seed custodians from various countries to share experiences on agrobiodiversity conservation, community management of plant genetic resources, and strategies to strengthen resilient food systems. The session highlighted the key role of youth in innovation, climate adaptation, and the continuation of traditional seed management practices, as well as the need to expand their participation in decision-making and in the Treaty’s financing mechanisms.
