Chapter 3 of the Economic and Social Review 2022 highlights advances in various economic sectors, mainly tourism, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and energy, as well as changes in consumer prices and employment. Tourism experienced a strong recovery, driven by the global resumption of travel and the complete removal of COVID-19 restrictions. Construction, however, saw a decline in activity in both the public and private sectors, affected by rising prices and periodic shortages of imported materials. For its part, the agricultural sector showed a partial recovery driven by domestic demand and regional exports, despite the challenges posed by increases in the costs of imported inputs such as fertilizers, fuel and animal feed.
