Fecha de fin: 12/01/2023

Description

The Department of Forest Health is an instance within the ICF, attached to the Sub-Directorate of Protected Areas and Wildlife. It was created considering the importance of having a department within the ICF that is exclusively in charge of Forest Health Management, with two different approaches, the first of which is Integrated Pest Management (Forest Health), which consists of keeping pests and diseases at acceptable levels and is applied in forest scenarios such as forest plantations, nurseries, seed banks, urban forests, among others and the second is Ecosystem Management (Forest Health), this being a new approach at the level of the Central American Region, that tries to maintain the functionality of ecosystems such as the Micro-watersheds and Protected Areas of the country, among others that constitute ecosystems.
