Taking into account the overall EU priorities and the added value of the EU in contributing to the objectives of the DR national development strategy and government plans, the priority areas selected in the IPM are as follows: Priority Area 1: 'Increasing economic opportunities, especially for women and youth' will improve the business climate and enhance trade and investment with the EU, which will continue to support initiatives for inclusive economic development; Priority Area 2: 'Nature and cities for people' plans to improve the integrated management of water resources; Priority Area 3: 'A modern state close to its citizens' will contribute to the efficient delivery of public services and the strengthening of public planning and investment as a priority mechanism for public expenditure allocation and management for results
