Project for the Promotion of Climate Resilience in the Rural Communities of the Northeast of Brazil

Start Date: 30/06/2021
End Date: 31/12/2026

Description

The objective of the project is to reduce the effects of climate change and increase the resilience of the affected populations in the Northeast Region, a region of mostly semi-arid lands. Through the project, family farmers and their communities will be supported to reverse the decrease in productivity caused by the degradation of agricultural ecosystems. The project will contribute to incorporating water collection, storage and recycling technologies, and diversification strategies aimed at strengthening the resilience of rural populations. The project consists of three components: Component 1. Climate resilient production systems; Component 2. Access to water for productive purposes; Component 3. Knowledge management and scaling up.
