Description
Enable the Dominican Republic to sequester and store substantial blue carbon through mangrove conservation and restoration, thereby decreasing the input of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Support for the preparation of this NAMA will result in a robust design, encompassing capacity building, technical assistance, planning of financial mechanisms for funding and long-term sustainability, sound scientific research and broad participation.
Observations
The preparation of this NAMA will contribute to the conservation and restoration of mangroves in the following ways: Quantify the carbon sink capacity of mangroves in the Dominican Republic through an integrated inventory and analysis of mangroves in the Dominican Republic.
