FERTIABONO – Individual Monetary Support for Agricultural Producers (Emergency Decree No. 022-2022)

Description

Extraordinary Government of Peru intervention providing individual monetary support to agricultural producers operating agricultural units of up to ten cultivated hectares and using nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. The support aimed to facilitate access to fertilizers, safeguard the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign, maintain land productivity and contribute to the economic recovery of agricultural producers.

Observations

The initiative was established by Emergency Decree No. 022-2022, published on 2 September 2022. MIDAGRI was exceptionally authorized to provide individual monetary support to agricultural producers registered in the Agricultural Producers Registry who cultivated up to ten hectares, used NPK chemical fertilizers and produced prioritized crops. The Decree authorized up to PEN 481,946,002 to finance the monetary support and related operating costs. Resources were channelled through the AGROPERU Fund. The FERTIABONO service remained available until 30 June 2023. A reference exchange rate of PEN 3.902 per USD is used for the budget conversion.
