INDRHI and IICA promote nature-based solutions to strengthen water security in Pedernales

Technical cooperation initiative between the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture to develop a study aimed at identifying and prioritizing Nature-based Solutions in the Pedernales River Basin. The study includes consultations with basin stakeholders, validation of available information, identification of priority areas, establishment of a hydrological baseline, and cost-benefit analysis. Its main product will be a prioritized investment portfolio to improve water availability for agriculture, contribute to basin restoration, and generate technical evidence for future investments and public policies on integrated water resources management, climate resilience, and sustainable agricultural development.
