Program towards food sovereignty with irrigation technology (Bolivia)

Start Date: 2021
End Date: N/A

Description

This program aims to improve the efficient use of irrigation water through the comprehensive implementation of advanced irrigation systems at the farm level—primarily drip irrigation, with reservoirs and pumps as needed—across 5,000 hectares, benefiting at least 5,000 families producing staple crops such as onions, potatoes, and tomatoes in Bolivia. The program combines three components: irrigation infrastructure, optimization of water use over four growing seasons, and comprehensive technical assistance throughout the production chain (cultivation, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling) for two years.
