Smart and Comprehensive Health Program (PROSINT)

Start Date: 07/12/2023
End Date: 07/12/2028

Description

IDB program aimed at contributing to improve the health level of the Salvadoran population, with emphasis on chronic non-communicable diseases, through the physical and digital implementation of a comprehensive care and management model in a network that strengthens continuity of care and the availability, quality and efficiency of services. The program addresses the triple burden of disease that combines NCDs (68%), external causes (20%) and infectious and perinatal diseases (12%), where NCDs represent the main cause of premature mortality. It includes four components: implementation of the digital health model, strengthening multilevel health resilience and expanding specialized coverage, strengthening the network of support services and emergency response, and institutional and governance strengthening. The program seeks to digitize 25% of specialized consultations through telehealth, manage 95% of referrals and counter-referrals, achieve 50% of hospitals meeting climate resilience standards, reduce 50% of blood bank producers, and expand specialized access to 50% of primary care units.
