Description

The Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program is an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food (MDRyT) that supports families in urban and peri-urban areas in the production of small-volume, GSP-certified vegetables, prioritizing the participation of women. The program's central objective is to increase the production and consumption of food from family and peri-urban agriculture to contribute to food security and sovereignty, as well as to family income generation. It is implemented by the Decentralized Public Institution for Food Security (IPDSA) in its Production, Knowledge Management, Organization, and Market components; and the National Institute for Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (INIAF) is in charge of the Technological Innovation component
