(Es) (Ecuador) Phytosanitary Measures Program for the Export of Musaceae - PROMEFI-MUSÁCEAS

The implementation of the Phytosanitary Measures Program for the Export of Musaceae (PROMEFI) aims to ensure that shipments of fresh musaceae fruit from Ecuador comply with the phytosanitary requirements of importing countries. This not only seeks to reduce non-compliance notifications and economic losses for exporters, but also to prevent the closure of key markets. To achieve this objective, the Agency will train staff in phytosanitary verification, inspect musaceae production sites, strengthen the Agency's technical capacity to comply with international requirements, and reinforce the technological system to maintain up-to-date information on phytosanitary data from production sites.
