(ES) (Ecuador) Project to Improve Resilience to Climate Change in Latin America

Fecha de inicio: 01/01/2020
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2025

Description

The project aims to achieve long-term results and pursues a comprehensive approach: it supports the expansion and implementation of effective and gender-sensitive EbA approaches in rural areas. These approaches are expected to be further incorporated into countries' adaptation plans and nationally determined contributions to the Paris Agreement. This would benefit the implementation of the revised climate protection goals, particularly in the areas of agriculture and water. Furthermore, countries can more easily achieve their national adaptation targets. The project supports governance to scale up EbA measures at the municipal, national, and regional levels. It also aims to strengthen various actors through improved knowledge management at the local and regional levels. These include national and local governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, the financial and insurance sectors, service providers, and at-risk rural communities. In addition, men and women, as well as indigenous and non-indigenous population groups, receive simple financing options to implement EbA measures.
