Description

The National Fund on Climate Change of Brazil is a main financial tool of the federal government aimed at financing actions to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis. Linked to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), the fund supports public and private projects through reimbursable and non-reimbursable modalities. It focuses on areas such as clean energy, green urban mobility, green industry, bioeconomy, sustainable agriculture, native forests, agroforestry systems, water resources and development of socio-biodiversity production chains.

Observations

The increase in resources of this initiative was achieved thanks to the issuance of sustainable sovereign bonds by the National Treasury. The budget has been the result of operations from 2009 to 2024, the year published is to date, which was updated on the official website of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
