Resilient Family Livestock in Uruguay Project

Project executed by the National Commission for Rural Development (CNFR) of Uruguay with the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA) as executing partner, focused on improving the resilience of family livestock systems on natural fields in the face of climate variability and change. The project implemented validated good livestock practices through a co-innovation approach, working with 51 beneficiary farms covering 17,000 hectares. A methodology combining a systems approach, dynamic monitoring and social learning was developed and implemented by field technicians together with producer families. The project improved the productivity and stability of the natural field, implementing low-cost, high-impact practices.
