Hydro-productive development program with irrigation, drainage, and flood prevention and protection works for sustainable production

Start Date: 01/01/2024
End Date: 01/01/2027

Description

The Hydroproductive Development Program has as its main objective the construction of infrastructure for irrigation, drainage, and flood protection, seeking to promote sustainable production and improve water and food security in the country. This program aims to enable productive areas through efficient use of water and contribute to adaptation to climate change, increasing agro-productive capacity and strengthening resilience to extreme weather events. For the period 2023-2027, the program intends to implement a total of 26 irrigation projects, 13 drainage projects, and 13 flood protection projects. These projects are designed to improve production conditions and ensure greater stability in rural areas, by reducing the impact of floods and increasing the availability of water for agriculture. With these interventions, it is expected to move towards more efficient and sustainable agricultural production, which guarantees a constant supply of food and strengthens the country's food security.
