Sectoral Plan of Public Policy for the Costa Rican Agricultural Sector 2023-2027

The Sectoral Plan of Public Policy for the Costa Rican Agricultural Sector 2023-2027 focuses on strengthening rural development through four strategic axes. The first, Modernization of Institutions of the Agricultural Sector, seeks to improve institutional efficiency and intersectoral coordination, strengthening human resources and modernizing services. The second axis, Promotion of Competitiveness, focuses on providing access to financing, insurance and technologies, as well as improving health services and access to national and international markets. The third axis, Productivity and Sustainability, promotes efficiency in the use of natural resources and encourages sustainable production, managing risks and promoting technological research. Finally, the fourth axis, Added Value and Marketing, aims to increase competitiveness through product diversification and improvement in marketing processes. This plan establishes 52 key interventions with specific indicators to measure progress and ensure a positive impact on the sustainability of the sector.
