Modernization of Institutions in the Agricultural Sector

The Modernization of Institutions in the Agricultural Sector axis seeks to strengthen infrastructure and institutional capacity through a series of public interventions. These include updating regulations related to animal welfare, where the objective is to reform the Animal Welfare Law to improve the coordination and allocation of resources. In addition, the modernization of processes in the National Animal Health Service (Senasa) is proposed, using diagnostic tools that allow for efficient use of resources. The National Institute for Innovation and Transfer of Agricultural Technology (INTA) will also be reorganized to optimize its functions and facilitate research and technology transfer activities. Additionally, the reorganization of other key entities such as the State Phytosanitary Service (SFE) and the National Service for Groundwater, Irrigation and Drainage (Senara) will be promoted, promoting more agile and efficient structures. Agricultural extension services will be improved, with a focus on capacity development and the implementation of comprehensive extension models. The creation of digital files for research at INTA and the digitalization of the registry of agrochemicals are also fundamental components of this axis, which facilitate access to critical information for the sector. Finally, efforts to improve digital infrastructure and operational efficiency by strengthening platforms such as InfoAgro, an information system for the agricultural sector, are highlighted. This axis includes the modernization of the National Production Council and the institutional supply program, which will facilitate marketing and improve the access of small and medium producers to wholesale markets.
