Project: Low-carbon agriculture and avoided deforestation to reduce poverty

Start Date: 03/04/2013
End Date: 31/12/2015

Description

The objective of this technical cooperation operation is to improve land use and forest management practices of rural producers in the Amazon and Atlantic Forest biomes, in order to promote sustainable, low-carbon rural development that contributes to poverty reduction, biodiversity conservation and climate protection. To achieve these objectives, financial and technical assistance will be provided to small and medium-sized rural producers, facilitating their access to rural credit lines of the ABC Program. The focus on this group is justified by the difficulties they face in accessing relevant information, higher transaction costs and barriers to obtaining credit, in addition to the social benefits that their inclusión generates.
