Description

Its objective is to make economic and social development compatible with the protection of the climate system, promoting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from various sources and strengthening the capture of these gases through sinks in the national territory. It also seeks to implement climate change adaptation measures at all levels of the Federation, with the collaboration of economic and social actors, especially the most vulnerable. It also focuses on the preservation, conservation and restoration of environmental resources, with special attention to biomes considered National Heritage, consolidating protected areas and promoting reforestation in degraded areas. In addition, the PNMC promotes the development of the Brazilian Emissions Reduction Market (MBRE), all of which is aligned with sustainable development to boost economic growth, eradicate poverty and reduce social inequalities.
