Strategic Project for Agricultural, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development for Justice for the Yaqui People

Start Date: 01/01/2021
End Date: 26/08/2024

Description

The fishing and aquaculture component of the strategic project for Justice for the Yaqui People focuses on strengthening the fishing activity of the Yaqui communities by providing equipment, boats, and the construction of key infrastructure. Through this component, boats with outboard motors, life jackets, flares, and communication radios are delivered to Yaqui fishermen. In addition, basic infrastructure units are built for the processing, storage, and conservation of fishery products, as well as docks to facilitate the unloading of boats. The project also includes training Yaqui fishermen in good post-capture management practices, in order to improve the quality and value of their production. These actions seek not only to renew and modernize the fishing fleet, but also to dignify and add value to the fishing activity, ensuring the economic sustainability and integral development of the Yaqui communities.
