Description

The Plan is an initiative to recognize and repair the injustices suffered by the Yaqui People, focusing on the restitution of lands, water, and the strengthening of their autonomy and culture. This plan arises from the dialogue between the government and the Yaqui Traditional Authorities, with the objective of creating solutions that respond to the needs and historical demands of the community. The plan seeks to restore the dignity of the Yaqui People through actions that ensure their integral well-being, respecting their culture, identity and traditional forms of government. In the area of ​​the environment and agriculture, the plan addresses the restoration of saline soils, the recovery of the ecological flow of the Yaqui River, and the implementation of a modern irrigation district. In addition, it contemplates agricultural and fishing development that promotes sustainable productivity, respecting the ancestral relationship of the Yaqui People with land and water.
