Development Program, implementation of educational programs and research in agri-food matters in Mexico

The main activities of the program are to train technicians, professionals and researchers in the agricultural, forestry and aquaculture sectors with high educational quality; to develop research projects that contribute to solving problems that arise in the agri-food sector; and to support rural communities through training and the transfer of technology and innovation to improve their quality of life. Through institutions such as the Colegio de Postgraduados (COLPOS), the Colegio Superior Agropecuario del Estado de Guerrero (CSAEGRO) and the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACh), the program offers scholarships for high school and higher education students, training for teachers, research and service projects, as well as practical activities such as laboratories and study trips. In addition, the program promotes the linkage and transfer of technology and innovation to rural communities to improve their quality of life. The program also focuses on contributing to the solution of problems in the agricultural and rural sector through the implementation of scientific and technological research projects, some of them focused on strategic issues such as alternative energies, efficient water management, food sovereignty, and climate change. In recent years, the program has published scientific articles and obtained patents, which highlights its impact in the academic and technological fields.
