Multi-stakeholder collaborative research to advance food system transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean

Fecha de inicio: 01/12/2023
Fecha de fin: 01/12/2026

Description

This project engages civil society and research partners from selected countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to identify critical questions on food systems transformation from a grassroots perspective. It uses participatory research methods to explore the constraints and conditions necessary to scale up agroecological models in specific territories and develop strategies that strengthen the capacity of grassroots organizations to influence agri-food systems transformation in research and the design and implementation of public policies. The project fosters collaboration between grassroots organizations and academics to generate solid evidence on the potential of agroecology in creating more resilient, equitable, and healthy food systems. Furthermore, it seeks to strengthen the capacity of civil and academic institutions to contribute to national debates and decisions on food systems transformation. This project is part of a cohort of seven projects supported by IDRC’s Food Systems Transformation Initiative, which focuses on promoting equitable, sustainable, and diverse food systems in regions vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and other crises.
